Originated in France in the 1950s, Mesotherapy has now spread around the world. Dr. Taha introduced Mesotherapy to the area at the Vein & Laser Center following his extensive training with Dr. Lionel Bissoon, who introduced Mesotherapy to the United States. In addition, Dr. Taha has trained in France and received certification in Mesotherapy and aesthetic medicine under the direction of Dr. Jules Marthan and Dr. Jacques LeCoz.
Mesotherapy is the practice of injecting small amounts of FDA approved traditional medications, homeopathic medications and vitamins into the skin to bring their healing properties to the treated areas.
Mesotherapy is done in the office. The desired areas of treatment are injected with special combination of medications / vitamins. The procedure will take about 15 - 30 minutes depending on the areas treated. There is minimal bruising and swelling and the patient can return to his/her daily activities immediately after the procedure. Most people will require from 6-10 sessions to achieve results. Treatments are spaced 1-2 weeks apart. Dieting and exercise will definitely help to maintain one's results over the long term.
Getting Rid of Cellulite
Mesotherapy is by far the most effective treatment for cellulite. Cellulite is a skin condition seen commonly in the hips, thighs, and buttocks. The cottage cheese appearance or multiple dimples on the skin occurs in over 90% of post pubescent women. It is not related to being overweight, as some people believe, but rather to genetics. When Mesotherapy is performed, the cellulite area develops increased blood and lymphatic flow, decreased fibrosis of the connective tissue, and reduction of the fat deposits. The net result is a smoothing of the skin and reduction of cellulite.
Spot Fat Reduction
Because of mesotherapy's ability to reduce fat deposits, it is a wonderful alternative to liposuction. The mesosculpting technique uses mesotherapy to reduce spot areas of fat accumulation. For patients who do not wish to undergo the risks of liposuction, mesosculpting is the answer.
Mesotherapy can be used to eliminate double chins, FAT bags under the eyes, “love handles”, and any other area of fat deposit that is resistant to diet and exercise.
Fat bags under the eyes
Fat around the eyes plays an important role in protecting them. During aging, this fat tends to protrude and herniate giving the appearance of large bags under the eyes. It makes the patient looks tired, older, aesthetically not appealing and causes considerable distress.
Surgical procedure can correct this problem but it associated with the risk of scarring and scleral show. Many patients desire a non surgical, office based treatment as they do not like to undergo surgery.
For those patients, Mesotherapy is a safe and efficacious excellent alternative. A tiny amount of special medication is injected in the fat to help dissolve it. Usually 2 to 4 treatments are required spaced at 4 to 6 weeks. There is mild swelling after treatment that subsides in few days. Fat pads dissolve gradually with no residual skin laxity or scarring.
Skin Rejuvenation
Using a Mesotherapeutic process known as Mesolift, vitamin injections under the skin rejuvenate cells, activating them metabolically and stimulating natural collagen and Elastin production. The process is not only reduces the appearance of existing wrinkles, but it also helps prevent new ones from forming. Mesolift can help “age-proof” patients of any age. Usually 4 – 6 treatments on the face, neck, arms and hands are recommended with a follow up visit once every 4 months.
