Many people choose to have decorative tattoos in youth but live to regret this decision. Fortunately, today, due to advances in laser technology, those undesirable tattoos can have them effectively and safely removed without the adverse risks so commonly encountered with previous treatments.

At the Vein & Laser Center we use the most advanced tattoo removal laser, the Medlite Q-Switch laser and we have the most extensive experience in the area. All consultations and treatments are performed by the doctor only.

Q-switch lasers, which use ultra short pulses in the nano second range and high energies, selectively targets the pigments of the tattoo without damaging the surrounding skin. Laser causes tattoo ink dye to fragment into smaller particles that are then removed by the body’s immune system. To accomplish this, multiple treatments are required. The number of treatments depends on the amount, color and type of ink used, the depth of the ink in the skin, and whether the tattoo is a professional or amateur one. 4 – 10 treatments spaced at 4 -8 weeks are required, sometimes more.

Dark (blue/black) inks and red inks fade the best. Orange and purple usually respond well. Green, yellow and sky blue are the most difficult to remove.
