Unfortunately, there is no cure for varicose vein disease. Because varicose and spider leg veins are not life-threatening conditions, treatment is not mandatory in every patient.
If diagnosed properly and treated effectively, these abnormal veins can be completely eliminated. In most cases the symptoms of pain, swelling, throbbing, and
aching in the legs improve drastically. Countless patients have told me that they have suffered for years unnecessarily with their varicose vein problems, having been told
by numerous other physicians that 'nothing can be done.' This is far from the truth. Current treatments are extremely effective at eliminating diseased veins and decreasing
the chances of future recurrence. There is no reason for any patient to suffer from varicose vein disease when safe and effective treatment exists. In addition,
untreated varicose veins can lead to complications such as blood clots, skin inflammation, and ulcerations.
Successful treatment of varicose veins must accomplish all of the following:
- Treatment of the underlying cause
- Complete removal of all diseased veins
- Optimal cosmetic results
- Safe & least complication possible
- Economical & affordable
At the initial visit to the Vein & Laser Center, we conduct complete and focused examination to pinpoint the possible cause of your problem, and recommend further
diagnostic tests if necessary such as Venous Doppler, Photoplethysmography (PPG), and Color Duplex Ultrasound Scanning. Depending on the type and stage of vein disease,
each patient is advised a course of treatment that is best suited to treat his/her condition of varicose or spider veins. Most likely a combination of treatments
will be recommended to achieve the best possible cosmetic & therapeutic results.
